Abstract
The present checklist provides 171 species belonging to 36 genera, 12 families of gorgonian reported from Indian waters based on through literature compilation. In addition, the morphological feature of newly recorded Melithaea variabilis (Hickson, 1905) from Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been presented.
