Abstract
The policy environment in India has been shaped by a curious intersection of globalization and localization, growing demands and movements for transparency and accountability and a growing intellectual of the bureaucracy and an institutionalization of the research—policy interface. The global partnership for development provides an opportunity to address the economic, social and environmental issues in a coordinated, coherent and collaborative manner. The global partnership can promote a more effective, coherent, representative and accountable system. Government and international arrangements for collective decision making ultimately develop better and feasible public policies.
