Abstract
Literature plays a crucial role in convergence between nations through a process of mutual influence between these nations. Studying mutual influences between Arabic literature, especially fiction, and its European counterpart has preoccupied researchers to the extent that it provoked controversies between them throughout ages. Some of these researchers deny the existence of the art of fiction in ancient Arab literature and assert that this art stemmed from the European culture. Thus, this paper aims to prove originality of the art of fiction in Arab literature and its ingrained impact on its European counterpart due to cultural interaction and translation.
