Abstract
Menopause brings many changes in woman’s body. Due to loss of hormonal support she is susceptible for various infections. One of the dangerous infections amongst this is pyometra which is infection of uterus. A 70 year old female presented with lower abdominal pain, fever. Her USG suggested pyometra. During her dilatation and curettage cervix was not negotiable, hence her hysterectomy was done. The specimen showed a cervical fibroid at the internal os which cased obstruction to the outlet.
