Abstract
Drug-induced gingival overgrowth (DGO) is mainly associated with three types of drugs: phenytoin (PHT), cyclosporine A, and calcium channel blockers. The pathogenesis of drug-induced gingival overgrowth is uncertain, and there appears to be no unifying hypothesis that links together the 3 commonly implicated drugs. This review discusses the pathogenesis of DIGO and approaches to treatment based on the current knowledge and observations.
