Abstract
The appointment of Indonesian citizens by foreign nationals better known as intercountry adoption has a more difficult and complicated appointment process than child adoption in general. Prospective adopted children must be in a childcare institution, in other words the child who will be appointed by a foreign national may not be handed over directly by the child's biological parents. This study aims to assess and analyze the Appointment of children of Indonesian citizens by foreigners in customary law and Islamic Law Compilation book (KHI), and analyzing the legal consequences of the appointment of Indonesian citizens by foreigners in customary law and KHI as recommendations for legal reform in Indonesia. This research is a normative legal research method, with a type of library research that is descriptive analysis.
