Abstract
In this paper various methods are compared for solving linear systems of equations. Both direct and iterative methods are considered. Different direct and indirect methods exist for the computation of linear system of equations. For direct methods, three methods are considered: Crammer’s rule, Gaussian elimination and LU (lower and upper triangular matrices) Decomposition. Jacobi method, Gauss-Seidel method, Successive over-relaxation method will be considered for iterative methods. The results show that Successive over-relaxation method is more efficient than other methods considering convergence, number of iterations, memory requirements and accuracy
