Abstract
Background: Cystic artery pseudoaneurysms (CAP) are rare vascular entities, with only seventy-five case reports documented in the literature between 1991 and 2022. None of these reported cases occurred following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Management typically involves endovascular embolization or surgical intervention. Case Presentation: We present the case of a 35-year-old woman with a cystic artery pseudoaneurysm that followed an ERCP procedure. The patient underwent an uneventful emergency laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Conclusion: CAP remains a rare but life-threatening complication of biliary procedures and severe gallstone disease. Early diagnostic imaging with contrast-enhanced CT is essential, and primary laparoscopic cholecystectomy can offer a safe, definitive resolution in stable patients.
