Abstract
Anastomotic leak is clearly related to post operative morbidity and mortality. Evaluation of anastomosis by using oral contrast esophagography has been used in lots of centers to diagnose this complication. We showed that esophagography with water soluble oral contrast use in anastomotic leak diagnosis is of low sensitivity and it couldn’t be used for screening. There are data supporting CT scan with oral contrast or endoscopic evaluation.
