Abstract
Infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC) of the parotid gland is a rare and aggressive tumor that accounts for 1 to 3% of all salivary gland tumors. This histological type is characterized by high rate of local recurrence and cervical lymph node invasion. We report the observation of a 57-year-old female patient with IDC of the left parotid gland revealed by painful swelling of the parotid region. CT of the face with ultrasound complement has highlighted a lesional process of the left parotid gland. Parotidectomy with histological study was in favor of an IDC of the parotid gland. The patient received adjuvant radiotherapy of 50Gy.
