Abstract
Anchorage plays an important role in orthodontics. Miniscrews as a temporary anchorage device have gained popularity because of its small size, ease of insertion and removal, low cost, immediate loading and ability to be inserted in different locations of the alveolar bone. The aim of this review article is to discuss the historical development, clinical applications, risk factors, advantages, clinical applications and complications of miniscrews implants during its usage.
