Morphological examination of 18 specimens (were collected during two of our scientific excursion which was carried out from 13th of August to 17th of October 2014, and from 17th December to 19th May 2015.) revealed complete blending between them. Because of there is no hiatus in the studied saw-scaled viper two populations of the southern Iraq, Echis carinatus is the name available for this species, and the nominate form is Echis carinatus sochureki.
