Abstract
In this paper, we prove a maximum principle for the Sturm-Liouville problem, and use it and the fixed point theorem in Banach spaces to prove a new result of positive solutions for the Sturm-Liouville problem under superlinear conditions, our assumptions on f and p are weaker than usual ones.
